John Mayer recently released a new album.  Whether or not you like him as a musician or as a person is irrelevant.  There is no denying the man is a genius with lyrics.  I listen to his music when I’m working.  I listen to his stories, I listen to his intonation, I listen to his lyrics.

The new album contains a song unlike any others he’s written called “Walt  Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967.”  There is a line in it that inspired my latest piece.  “The sky was a flare, when he came up for air.”

I introduce you to “The Sky was a Flare.”  Mixed media layered glass mosaic, 10 x 13 inches framed.
